What is the best way to transfer photos from an iPhone to Linux Lite?

No iPhones here, but a quick Google.

but there are some issues and bugs

Edit: I guess I'll  mention the generic way I do this on my Iphone 5S across multiple operating systems and is KISS also. Mine is now up to IOS ver. 9 from 8.2 since I made the above thread.

Set up a dummy gmail account. After you take the pictures on the iphone. Upload them to the dummy gmail account. Your iphone is already set up to do this function. Download them from any operating system install. Not fancy. Not hard. Easy Peasy.
