Title: Touchpad shows up as a mouse
Post by: davalv on December 06, 2015, 10:38:18 PM
Hello,
I'm a new user to Linux Lite 2.6.
My laptop specs as follows:
ASI Model: SP15R-UMA
Intel Core i5-2520M 2.5GHz.
8Gb of RAM
Intel HD 3000 Graphics
Touchpad: Sentelic
Hard drive: Sandisk SSD 250Gb.
My question is, The Sentelic Touchpad shows up as a generic mouse.
There is no tab to configure two finger scroll. Is there a fix for this?
Other than that, everything else works great. Runs real fast, so far I'm happy with the performance, it's faster than M$ Win 10.

Thanks,
Dave

After some research, there doesn't appear to an easy fix for this. The support for Sentelic is poor. Best you can hope for is trying a newer kernel - https://www.linuxliteos.com/forums/installing-software/linux-lite-kernel/ (https://www.linuxliteos.com/forums/installing-software/linux-lite-kernel/) Try a later kernel from that thread, say 4.0 onwards (page 7+)

Hi,

This is old, but appears to be same issue..??
Looks like terminal work, and creating files..
I don't have such a device to test it.

See Post#3 with instructions (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1502560)

Thanks for the reply.
My fix for now is to use an external USB mouse.
The scroll wheel works fine.
Maybe this problem will be fixed in a future update.

Thanks again,
Dave
