Hit the left arrow key on the keyboard (if there is one) and the cursor should reappear.
Information: This is a long standing bug, often misreported, and patches from Debian have not been 100% effective because it is always also tied to buggy ACPI firmware. Remove the "quiet" from your grub to see error reporting. Some modern systems search for i8042 devices (PS2 mouses and keyboards) because the USB or BT peripherals are not picked up from the BIOS by the kernel in the right order, because it is using an i8042 chip (even though there are no pluggable inputs for it) that uses Windows to pass-through to USB device recognition. It is not as rare as has been reported and is common with AMD CPUs up to A8. It can be repaired, but only through kernel loading protocols, which most users cannot effectively deal with, much like the firmware legacy addressing bug for PCI devices. It is entirely the fault of OEMs, using cheaply hacked firmware implementations Windows users are entirely unaware of. Of course Linux immediately finds the hacks, but simply cannot provide for every glob of hacked esoteric firmware the OEMS implement.
