Title: Completing installation of wireless keyboard & mouse
Post by: cyber8 on September 18, 2017, 01:38:25 PM
Hi - I'm very new to Linux, so please excuse any obvious mistakes.

I have successfully paired a wireless keyboard to Linux Lite on a fairly old Dell desktop PC. I can see signals being transmitted between the PC and the keyboard via a moving band and a numerical counter, but cannot work out how to switch the OS to actually use this keyboard. The only keyboard recognised is the wired one I used for setup. I have tried the obvious things like rebooting, removing the wired keyboard used to set up the wireless connection, and using different USB ports, but can't solve it. I've also looked for similar issues in this forum. Any help much appreciated.

Please provide the brand and model /model number of the keyboard.

Cheers!

Open the main menu Settings>Settings Manager>Keyboard If your keyboard is paired it should appear there. Click on the bar and choose it over the wired one. Leave them both connected until you're sure the BT one is working right.

LoL! I have the same one at home, just never used it in Linux Lite. I don't have the DELL BT adapter though, was originnaly for my PlayStation ;)
If trinidad's procedure does not work for you, reply back here. I'll do some closet diving and get that old keyboard a whirl.
We'll try and solve this thing. ;)
