It's missing the unnecessary overhead, XFCE is the fastest UI, it's really that simple, nothing is missing, and any needed software is available through Synapsis, which you may know of having used Ubuntu, the same repositories are available to LL as Ubuntu.

I currently have Ubuntu loaded on a desktop with modest resources (dont want to spend alot of money).
I do have a memory upgrade on the way ..

Am considering a "liter" version... I have to ask.

What makes Linux lite, well, lite compared to lets say a Ubunto LTS distro ?

Some stuff is missing I would imagine...
