If Jerry is too busy to be fully involved within this, then we'll need to do as much as we can by our own.
QuoteThat's what I think, maybe I'm totally wrong and missunderstood Jerry.Maybe , I dare not interfere anymore

So, yes, we need to translate the pictures too, not just words.
Neither am I lol. Github documentation is almost as good as Linux Lite's so I guess is a matter of reading that and get to work
Yea, I know but it does help in those cases where users' English is 0.
I also agree that the pictures in the target language are important, but it will be a huge work. From another view if you see pictures even if there are in English at the most of them you will understand what is meaning.
Now that you are suggesting the repo, it can host not only the spanish work but every translating work with branches (I'm not really sure if it's the way how it works;do you know how commits work in github? So, every language branch have a commiter).
Also, @Moltke, your tutorial is pretty good, but it's still a Google translation and, as you wrote there, it's not a very trusty way. So we can try to make a whole native translation if we add a button or something... I don't know; things to talk.
@Jerry See number #2 post for a reminder of Translation status in Linux Lite. Please respect the process. Lite Tweaks is set up as a test case. It is not an indication that translations have started. QuoteI respect that. I just want to say that I have now translated Lite Tweaks into Danish.I do a lot to spread the word about Linux Lite in Denmark. I'm making 2 videos. Part 1 which deals with the introduction and installation of Linux Lite. I'm done with it.Part 2 will deal welcome screen with update, installation of language packs, installation of drivers, Lite software, Restore points and so on, i.e. a total review.Setting up mirrors, installing programs with synaptic. Review of everything in settings manager. I expect to finish it in the coming week. They will then come up on Youtube and Vimeo.

If somebody could provide French, Portugies or other languages speaken from a lot of people, then a wide range of the world could be covered.Nanayaw
I soon realized it wasn't only translating words but images as well; perform every action as explained in the help manual in the target language, Spanish in our case, take screenshots and insert them in the translation too. This is a lot of work and I just didn't have the time nor the experience to do so at the moment, since you're now offering yourself maybe we could join forces, we could set up a github repo to keep track of our work.
I would like a lot to help with this, so, if anybody can send me some kind of instructions I would like a lot to invest some time to native translating LL to spanish.I'd like starting with little things like 'Lite Welcome' (guess this is the LL tutorial @Nanayaw is talking about: Welcome to Linux Lite), LL software (Lite Upgrade, Lite Info, Lite Sources, etc.), and then with forums navigation (I'd like to know if it's possible, I'm not a coder but I can make the entire translation of forums navigation with help of someone to code a native translation button); maybe @Jerry or @Moltke can say something at this respect.
I've submitted our website to Acceptable Ads. They basically work with Ad Block to create a whitelist of sites that have unobtrusive ads so that they can still get ad revenue from people that ad block. I hope we get accepted.
IOne Option if somebody like to make a translation could be to translate the LL tutorial because there the context is mich more clear and it is also very helpfull.
Jerry and me tested the translation. In german and we have seen, that it is not only translating at a lot of points the translater have to understand the context and for that some communications are needed that it works well and if we only translate the main languages then it is a big work as Jerry explained.QuoteI started with the translation of Lite Tweaks to Dansih,QuoteOne Option if somebody like to make a translation could be to translate the LL tutorial because there the context is mich more clear and it is also very helpfull.QuoteThat's a really good idea
