hmc.edu is Harvey Mudd College in Claremont, California.   Their focus is math, science and engineering.  A number of universities host Linux distros, and they are generally very safe.  Speed-wise, they will be faster in the summer, when fewer classes are ongoing, therefore not as much demand on their servers and bandwidth.

In the Help Manual under "Software Updates" subheading "Your Software Updates Country Location", it recommends to pick a download server with the word "ubuntu" in the name. I did so. However, when I hit the button "select best server", it gives me "mirror.hmc.edu". Which one is the best (safest and fastest) download server?
