Hi All,
One quick question. My laptop has a max of 4gigs RAM and I was wondering if there is/was any advantage of using the PAE over the non-PAE kernel. I installed the PAE out of habit but wanted to check with you all on the pros-cons of the kernels for my system. Thank you.

For a 32-bit kernel, what are the pros/cons of PAE vs. non-PAE? (http://askubuntu.com/questions/151068/for-a-32-bit-kernel-what-are-the-pros-cons-of-pae-vs-non-pae)
Haven't got any expertise in this area myself, but from discussion above doesn't appear there is any major difference performance wise.

Hello!
If your computer supports PAE and it has 4 GB RAM or less, it doesn't matter which one you use. PAE was implemented to cross the barrier that limits non-PAE systems to addressing no more than 4 GB of RAM at a time...

Thank you both for the replies and it seems to follow what I suspected that it is for above the 4gig barrier.
