Title: Lite Upgrade from 3.8 to 4.0
Post by: jakebob on June 05, 2018, 08:44:42 PM
In the past, I was able to click on "Lite Upgrade" to install the most recent version. When I try that now (with version 3.8), the message I get says, "you are already running the latest release." Will I eventually be able to upgrade to 4.0 using this method?

Thanks in advance for all replies.

Would be nice if it worked that way, but it's not possible to upgrade from 3. series to 4. series.

I plan to ride 3.8 for a while.

As with all  (most), you cannot upgrade to a newer version.  Can be done within a version, e.g. 3 to 3.2 to 3.4, etc.  Backup your home older Read or youtube  a few tutorials, and take it from there. I found it easier than I thought.  Check out Joe Collins at eezee linux or youtube.  I,m 64 now, if I can, anybody can, lol.  Good luck.

Series 3 is perfect. Almost everything is still working after upgrading (and updating) until 3.8 here. Even some nasty video in Vivaldi browser which was right from the beginning to my surprise at that time...!  (And more; great distro. And simpel enough to just work with day-to-day.)
