Bitsnpcs thanks for the advice and assistance.

Also apologies to the moderators, I should have posted this question under hardware sub-board.

Hello ZoA,

I see Jerry has added the update command for Linux Lite to kernel 4.11 ,this includes the hardware headers.
Check in the thread linked above for his instructions on this.

Hello ZoA,

I have found some information for you today -

http://www.pcworld.com/article/3191196/linux/3-cool-features-in-ubuntu-1704.html

It says Ubuntu 17.04 uses kernel 4.10 and has support for Ryzen.

In this thread below it has instructions for updating the kernel in Linux Lite to 4.10, but it does not include the drivers, so wouldn't alone help with using a Ryzen cpu.
There may be a way to add the drivers in to this I am not sure about this, it is too advanced for me to understand, you could ask in the thread, where it is discussed.

Hello ZoA,

yes it will be present on Linux Lite too, and all likely other Distros based upon Ubuntu.

There does seem on the link to be workarounds for this bug.

I suggest do not pay much attention to hardware that is stated as compatible on the Ubuntu lists as they are incorrect. It says my graphics is fully compatible when I checked before buying, and it was a nightmare and still wont work until about 2018 releases.

There is a Hardware Database on Linux Lite main site, of systems people are using successfully, this would be the most reliable source of information and compatibility.
Where the users entered the specs, you may see on the list and can ask them on the forum etc.

Another way is if you have any friends using Linux of the similar specs you seek, to only buy things you can ask them about and see it working.

Hi!

I'm planing to build new Ryzen computer and during the research for the build I discovered there is an issue with Ubuntu and openSUSE on Gigabyte AM4 motherboards:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1671360

I planed to run Linux Lite on that computer and my first choice was Gigabite motherboard so it would be really helpful if I could get feedback if this compatibility issue will be present on Linux Lite too. Otherwise I'll have to search for new motherboard.   :-\

Thanks in advance.
