Title: Kernels
Post by: LarryB1607 on May 10, 2020, 02:01:33 PM
Have LLOS for about 3 months now and have made a few tweaks to personalize my system.  I am using 4.84 64 bit that has kernel 4.15.088.  I see that there are several perhaps newer kernels available.  None of these install when I check for updates.  Should I try installing any of them and is there a change log that lists the differences between them all.

Thanks

@LarryB1607
You will get kernel updates for the base.. so 4.15.xx
There is a kernel thread but a newer kernel may fix but may not as well.
If things are working well you may not need... it's best to know what your doing as you could run into problems

But if you like you can easily install/remove.
Words of advise
Have a good back up
Don't remove until tested
Know how to get back to previous

Lite Tweaks has kernel installer/remover
If you like to test, this is the best/preferred method.
Install and reboot, newest kernel is used, to go back to previous you need to reboot and choose advanced to choose previous/different kernel...

If you remove keep, a couple you know work, and you cannot remove the inuse kernel.
