Hello JmaCWQ,
I think you are right, I might end up breaking it messing with the Window Button icons, the main thing for Firefox and Thunderbird was the icons on panel which is done  :)

You are welcome :)
Window Button icons I think the others you're wanting to change are called.
Getting the launcher icons how I want is usually enough for me & I've never worried about trying to change the Window Button icons.
A quick search of the Xfce forum shows possibly it can be done, but might be somewhat complicated...and I guess there's always the possibility messing with it can break things.
Someone might know an easy way to make these changes.
Good luck 8)

EDIT: search I linked to had expired but I searched for the words 'change window button icons' and browsed the results.

Hello Scott,

Thank You  :)
I will start editing them tonight, I will do the coral red feather in each size, and upload to share them so people can edit to the color they want ?
Or I can do the colours if someone wanted help with it.

Hello JmaCWQ,

Thank You  :)

I found them as you said in the Pixmaps folder and changed them and also on the whiskermenu. They are looking very nice.
When Firefox or Thunderbird is running the icon for the window in the panel (where the program would be reduced, not the icon changed) is the previous one, how do I also change this to the round one please ?

I used the same method you showed me for these to add the missing icon to Fritzing in the whiskermenu so it has also solved this missing icon. :)

Hello Bitsnpcs,
To change the Thunderbird & Firefox icons right click on the launcher itself on the Panel, go Properties then Edit, you should get an option to change the icon by clicking on it in the Edit Launcher settings window, click it, then when the Select an Icon window appears look through those, possibly changing the 'select icon from' menu to All.
If you can't find them in there change the 'select icon from' to 'image' & search via that, if not found in the Pixmaps folder where it defaults to look in the usr/share/icons folder for the Gnome icons.

Whisker menu icons are where Scott mentions.
To change something like that I usually make a copy of the original I want to change, then do the editing to the copy, save it as a .png in the folder usr/share/pixmaps.
Then use the Properties & click the icon as you described above, changing the 'select icon from' menu to 'image' looking in the pixmaps folder for the newly created icon & select it, save etc...  8)

The XFCE Menu icon, I also wanted to change to the new feather, by making a duplication of the button editing to swapping the feather over using Gimp, I have tried right clicking the Menu icon
Properties>click icon>
discovered it is called xfce4-whiskermenu, I cannot locate this icon using Fsearch, I need it to get the right button image, and also to know where to place the new version so I can select it using the select an icon window that results from clicking the icon in Properties>click icon

Hello Bitsnpcs

The icon xfce4-whiskermenu.png is located here:

/usr/share/icons/hicolor/<size x size>/apps/xfce4-whiskermenu.png

there are multiple <size x size> folders - 16x16 to 256x256.

Hello,

I have few icon questions, if you can help with any of them please.

I am using the Faenza icon theme, I want to use the Thunderbird and Firefox icons from

Menu>All>Appearance>Icons>Gnome default Gnome theme

whilst still using the Faenza theme.

When I click in the panel>panel preferences>items> select thunderbird (or firefox)>properties>click icon
The icon is not shown as available to change it.

How do I change it ?

I have tried some different icon sets, the last few days but have not found one that produces the look.

Fritzing has no icon in the menu, how do I edit this to add an icon ?

Etcher lives in a folder in the Home folder, it does not display the Etcher icon, it has the Gear icon.
When I load a iso, it then has the Etcher icon, temporarily.
I would like to make Etcher have the Etcher icon permanently, and I would like its shortcut to live in the Whisker Menu in Multimedia category like the dvd burner software does.
Also so it lives in the Linux equivalent of "program files" (usr/share ?) rather than in the Home folder.
