@Moltke
You're almost there, click the "Mostrar" checkbox in the xfce-sensor preferences for the wanted sensors. They will show in the taskbar.
BTW, mine show 100c because I'm in a Virtual Machine. :-P

Cheers!
Didn't work. I checked "Mostrar" and close the window but it shows nothing. I have to open the window in order to see temps values :(

Hi @TheDead

I finally made it!  ;D It took me quite a while but hey, better late than never lol. You were right all the time, I just couldn't get it cause I didn't undestand/know how to customize XFCE panel by then, and now that I do feel a little bit like a fool actually since it was so easy; install xfce4-sensors-plugin> right-click on the panel and select "add a new item" > select sensors plugin applet > right-click on the new sensors applet and select properties > check show boxes for sensors you want it to show > select font size and unselect show title, voila! Check it out!

However, it does take some space in my already populated panel so now I don't know if keep it or not. ::) :P
Well, I can finally mark this thread as solved. Thank you all for the time and help :)

# Create own window instead of using desktop (required in nautilus)
own_window yes
own_window_argb_visual yes
own_window_type normal
own_window_hints undecorated,above,sticky,skip_taskbar,skip_pager

Choosing "above" instead of below in own_window_hints will make conky always show on top of other windows as long as own_window_type is normal. I forgot my setup is not the same as default.

Hi @trinidad
Thanks for sharing your useful tips, however, I'm using Gkrellm which seems to fit my needs. It shows a small window in which I can keep track on cpu temps behaviour, besides, I ran conky, open a terminal and typed "htop" to compare conky vs gkrellm on resources usage  and the difference is quite a thing; conky uses 3.3% while gkrellm uses 0.7%, so I'm sticking with gkrellm  ;D. Take a look at Gkrellm working https://imgur.com/a/meItl in the image gkrellm is the small window showing temps right above the taskbar ;)

use psensor ...install from synaptic and it sits in the panel. You can set warning levels

Hi @bfb
I've already tried psensor in another distro, however, I'm not sure I tried to make it show the info in the taskbar, I think I do and didn't work, but not entirely sure, so maybe I'll try that. Thanks for taking the time to answer!

To make conky always show so that maximized desktop windows don't cover it up try: own_window_type panel

Maybe 1 last attempt... https://help.ubuntu.com/community/SensorInstallHowto
        search via Synaptic for sensors-applet

Perhaps this is more to your liking??
Already installed. It shows in the desktop, but I didn't try  "editing the /etc/sensors.conf". Maybe I try that and see how it goes. Thanks!

OP wanted something in the taskbar to have it always visible.

@Moltke
The way I described installation, it IS in the taskbar ;)  See here :

Tell me if imgur link works or not,  first time upload there. Woot!

-Cheers!
Yes, I installed it from the install/remove software app, went to panel preferences but like I said, it shows a window on the desktop which displays the info, not exactly what I was looking for. However, I tried your way with same result :( but gkrellm is doing the job; I can see the info in a little window which stays always on top, check it here https://imgur.com/a/meItl :)  and this is how the xfce4-sensors-plugin looks like https://imgur.com/a/pxawj as you can see is a big window which I have to open every time if checking temps. should I mark this thread as solved? By the way, imgur link works fine.

I've liked the conky widget since it was added to Lite, and it is really versatile.

If you can view the temp you should be able to pretty much add it where ever. Conky would be a great place to start as its already set up just need to add the extra..
Have a look at mine..
I've added Network Strength along with tweaking size and layout..

Hello!
Do sudo apt-get update and sudo apt-get-instell xfce4-sensors-plugin
Then, go in the preference of the bottom panel, go into elements (sorry Im in French... so something like "element" ;) )
Add the "Sensor" plug-in
Tada!
There is also a few option for the display after install, etc.

Cheers!
Bonjour/Bonsoir!  ;)
I've already installed KFCE4-sensors-plugin, the problem is it shows on the desktop and as far as I've seen there's no option to make it show the temps in the taskbar. I installed gkrellm which shows on the desktop too but you can resized the window as small as you like, so I did that and placed it on a corner configured to stay always on top so I can keep an eye on temps values at a glance. Thanks for taking the time to answer!  ;D
