Found it!

Further down there is an additional Login section where it needs to be set. Logging in on top, automatically populated via KeePass/KeeFox, used to keep me logged in. Not now anymore with the new theme.

Is there a setting I'm not aware of that allows to activate "stay logged in"?

Not that I'm aware of, on the default template there is. You could try logging out, clearing cache passwords for the Forums in your browser, then log in again and see if the option is there. You could also try switch the the default template, then run through the above steps.

Hi Jerry, sorry for misunderstanding. No prob, I did change the theme back to the old one.
What I was trying to find out is, why I won't stay logged in anymore to the forum after a while of inactivity?
Is there a setting I'm not aware of that allows to activate "stay logged in"?

It's for a minimal time, and people are always free to change themes :)

Since the Xmas theme got added/activated my login times out with inactivity. Have there been other changes deployed to the forum at the same time? I'm using the old theme due to readability.

You can select your own preferred theme under your profile:

Sorry for seeming stupid and preferring Linux - I just don't know any better.

Xmas template is kinda blinding.  8) Is it possible for to have a user choice for using a darker forum theme? I like this one http://custom.simplemachines.org/themes/index.php?lemma=759
