Hello!

Unfortunately, October 9th was the deadline for submitting comments on this proposal for rulemaking to the FCC.

This could DEFINITELY cause more harm than good to both the computing and amateur radio communities - both of which thrive on experimentation.

Having read this FCC proposal for rulemaking in its entirety, even if this is fully implemented, it would not be nearly as far-reaching as the 'gloom and doom' folks claim; would only apply to equipment made in the future, meaning this would take YEARS to be fully implemented; and assumes that China will comply and make the stuff to be that way, which isn't likely. Besides, there's no way that stuff of this nature could even BE made to be this 'bulletproof'. As with everything else, someone will find a way to get around it all.

Sadly, as for freedom and democracy, they are both becoming more and more endangered with each passing day. Wrong is right, right is wrong, and our adversaries now hold the high moral ground. We live in a topsy-turvy world, indeed!
