Quite a profound forum post for the holidays! ;)I read quite a few years ago that Capitalism has a tendancy to self destruct and just cannot be substained indefinately. But, even is a system in place is perfect on paper. even the best ones will fail eventually because is is run by humans.Be it, power, greed, control, etc. there will always be people willing to step on other people's head because they think they deserve more.
This's the saeson to be sharing! ;)
Cheers!

Derrida had the new internationalism and its unavoidably infectious hypocrisy pegged. New names same oppressors. Making money is in its least ethical spectre in international business. Imperialism was more essentially ethical. Of course in a genuine assessment communism was even less ethical than capitalism. Linux doesn't have a lot to do with international business and political ethics. It once aspired to a kind of lame geekdom of anarchy, but gave itself much too much credit as an influence. Capitalism is not an idealism, rather in fact, it is natural enough to be named an inherent quality of human reason... but of course any ethical aspirations that could be acquired by it are dependent on that same humanity... which we seem to be in the process of redefining in this age.

And old blog posts like the one that follows do not help to assuage my concern:

Rather comprehensive, essential reading. Things certainly seem following this projection:

As for [removed], it has become so passé! Full obliteration is now in vogue.

Terry Davis Command Line video cracks me up.

The Linux kernel, especially the proprietary blobs that are part of it, is a special story ... that part is under the full control of powerful corporations (M$, IBM, Intel, etc.) so that every story about a particular "security" of linux is naive and irrelevant .

Users should decide what is good for them, and the linux kernel is in any case less and less "good", except for the companies that finance and participate in its development.

I begin to be a trifle doubtful now whenever I recommend Linux to friends and relatives.

Has there been any discussion here in the forum about IgnorantGuru's post that I have missed?

Perhaps the future of Linux is to become the 'Lesser Of Three Evils'.

Thanks. Happy Hollidays. :)
You guys celebrate Christmas today, ours is in two weeks.

Two weeks? I didn't think there was that many timezones, the Earth got bigger this year, it will have to take a new year's resolution and shed a few pounds! ;)
Or... I'm guessing, Merry Orthodox Christmas, a little early! :)

Cheers, but drink responsibly people, that includes you granpa! (Granpa : Aww man!)

We can't use [banana] or [porcupine] anymore? Darn! ;)

Happy holidays!
We can use them but never in the same sentence. ;)
Who knows what can happen if porcupine goes bananas. :)

Thanks. Happy Hollidays. :)

There were some changes with the forum rules since my last visit too.
After reading them, got an impression that even jokes about Microsoft are not welcome. :)

Now I can't use the words like [removed] or maybe even [removed], like back then... ;D

I have seen arguments for using the BSD kernel as a base for a distro as in Debian GNU/kFreeBSD http://wiki.debian.org/Debian_GNU/kFreeBSD_why.

Left Mac OS X for Linux in Jan 2014

At this point in time, everyone's expendable. That being said, linus' kernel isn't the only one; there are plenty more around! Linux "as we know it" is far from meeting its end. Even if big companies get their hands on and actually size some part of the giant and vast-infinite open source universe...well, that's basically it; it's huge for them to take away from us! :)

Fear not my fellow linuxers and may the kernel be with you! lol
Without each others help there ain't no hope for us :)

First GitHub, now Linus:

(Just waiting for a moderator to identify "offensive content" in the link, and memory-hole it. Yeah, truth hurts.)

There is discussion aplenty on the chans, for those who care.
