This is a great resource. I've downloaded it for future reference. Thank you.

Based on the posting date, this was either redone or just reposted. I saw this over a year ago. It took me a few days then, but I watched all of it.

Excellent.
Have downloaded and will work through it in slow time.
Thanks bitsnpcs

:) @bitsnpcs, thanks, this is a great source of information.

you're welcome Jerry, Jocklad, and Scott(0) :)
I will keep eyes open for any other that will be useful.
Which software is good for download video ?
-
I have used the extension "Video Download Helper." But for YouTube videos, I have to use it in Firefox. Since Google owns YouTube, the folks at Google Chrome are good about not letting that extension work on YouTube.

Thank you torreydale :)

Hello,

I downloaded from the Terminal with the "youtube-dl" command .
Worked fine.

I'm familiar with a YouTube Downloader for Windows. I knew about youtube-dl, but I wanted something graphical for me, and something I could recommend to others. Now that I'm more terminal brave than before, I may investigate youtube-dl. The ClipGrab program looks tempting. But I suppose if I want to avoid browser extensions and PPAs, youtube-dl would be the better option.
So far, I have everything working the way I need and want. Ten days ago, I even finally installed (to my laptop) that Samsung SSD I bought back in November. I'm enjoying the steady state of speed and reliance. I'll experiment later.

thanks downloading the video and going to watch it over the next few days

youtube-dl ftw
@Jerry,
What's 'ftw' (file tree walk)?
I used the standard youtube-dl [video URL] to download this video.
What difference does youtube-dl ftw [video URL] make?
@bitsnpcs - looks really useful - many thanks - cool!
Cheers
Mike

Here is another free course. I took it several years ago over several weeks. Very good course.

Some may find this course helpful. It is free. I posted it before but for some reason it disappeared. I took this course several years ago and it was very good for the newcomer to Linux.

For the more advanced Linux user there is this.

Hello,
The Complete Linux Course 1:14:36 ,wifi option #2 , "FBI Surveillance van", surely it must be his demo of a tweaked iso ? :)
Update, I see he connects a phone, maybe the wifi is via this, and uses an edited listed so the above appears ?

Hey, many thanks to both bitsnpcs and tomt. I was just reading some of the older threads to get a bit more familiar with LL and found this thread. It's a bit dated, but I didn't see the need for a whole new thread. I have downloaded the video and have bookmarked the Intro to Linux site. It's been a really long time since I read or studied anything related to Linux. I'm not about to get all crazy serious about trying to become a Linux guru. I'll leave that to you guys. My day has passed. But it sure wouldn't hurt me to casually go through these course. At least I'll be a little more familiar with what somebody is trying to tell me when I ask for help. Kudos to you both.
Oh, and you both got a Thank. Really appreciate it!
