Thanks- got an d5 and an d6 now.  I got into the film industry thanks to youtube. I still remember dial up and the 10 mins videos.

Is it called Tascam DR-05 ?

A new pair of built-in microphones withstands up to 125dB SPL – the volume of a jet plane from 200 feet away – yet still have the sensitivity to capture every detail of a performance. You can add your own microphone or line-level source through the 1/8” stereo input, including plug-in power for microphones that need it."

So it means you do not need an external microphone as the DR-05 has got 2 built in microphones already.
If you wanted to add your own microphone it says it has this functionality too. Such as users may have a favorite type of microphone already and wish to use it. If you wanted to use your own favorite microphone it plugs in to the 1/8th" (~3mm jack point) on the DR-05.
If you use your own microphone the DR-05 will power the microphone from the DR-05's power source, you would not need a separate power supply for it.

D60 - Is it Nikon D60 ?
It is a DSLR camera I am not sure if it does video.
You can make the video on one device and the audio on another device, you then mux the audio and video in sync with each other and encode this to become 1 file/video with audio.

ill keep that in mind but im trying to see if my tascam D-5 need an external mic or not. it shouldnt right?? any ways im going to be up till three. working the swing shift.

hey guys my company got an gig coming up and i am having an headache. i trying to remember if i need an mic for my tascam d5 and d60 to work?? beside that i am running openshot and gimp as an open source company what also do i need??
