Hi bitsnpcs,

I'm not aware of any injuries/accidents caused by it.?
It relies on just blowing, speaking or singing into the tube.

Hi,

I'm pretty sure it's a "Talk Box"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk_box
It's just taped to the mic, you speak/sing into the tube to control the sound

Used by quite a lot of different Bands/Artists especially mid 70's/80's till the Vocoder took off
Here's an example, Peter Frampton, 1975, you can see him move the the Talk Box on the floor:

Hi,

They did various sequencers, electronic percussion and voice audio filtering/shifting.
You can see some on this, look at the drum pads and sticks with wires.
Also take a look at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kraftwerk#Technological_innovations

[/font]

I first saw them for the 1st time in 1975 "Autobahn Tour"
I think this is the earliest Live footage... 1970,
with some very avant-garde stuff,

Then there are the influences/sampling of Kraftwerk sounds

Great program on the BBC(UK) last night about Kraftwerk.
They have influenced so much music, still going after nearly 45 years...
In the early days they actually designed and built a lot of the Electronics
