Title: Lite Vs. Windows
Post by: tomg54 on November 19, 2017, 02:06:39 AM
3 years ago finally trashed windows 7 after finding Linux Lite 2.  Update, for fun tried win 10, 3 months and done.  Spare time and hdds.  Updated win 10 to the fall creators edition, 2 hours 20 minutes, it rebooted to the same 1703 and asked me if I wanted to update. LOL. That hdd is now reformatted.  I tried.  Thanks to these guys and the developers of this distro. It just works.

I've recently come to LL from Win10 and want to echo those thanks.

1 hour for a (weekly) update on LL (including running rkhunter and systemback)...

...last time I tried to update Win10 it took the whole afternoon and several reboots to get the system to complete the update... after failing the previous two months before I finally found the "troubleshooting/.../obscure menu option to delete cache".

So.  Also a big thanks to Jerry and the devs and everyone here for such a genuinely fast and simple OS that just works.  :)
