Is it not a case that their hardware is as yet not supported by the latest kernels? A case of catchup for the developers as opposed to closing the door on linux at the behest of "the arch enemy" :) ?

I read this earlier...
My guess is they are possibly using NVME type drive, very fast..??
I had an issue installing on a friendsNUC which had an NVME drive (https://www.linuxliteos.com/forums/hard-drives-and-ssd's/nuc-install-issues-nvme-pcie-drive/msg19013/#msg19013), even Windows 7 needed patching for it to work in Dual Boot.
