I always have partitions to test distro's so I am able to choose the best free software for day to day use.  http://distrowatch.com/

LL2 was better in ways than Xubuntu14.04 and Mint 17. (And I like this forum.)

LL2 reminds me of when I had WattOS in this pc some time ago, but I like Xfce better than
barebone Lxde and/or tiny better than MATE which is also slower.
But let's be honest... very nice to use.
And yes, my wife uses Puppy on an old Acer instead of Windows XP now..
I have tried it from time to time, but it is not enough for me.
But unbelievebly good for the room it takes. And safe on disk or pendrive.

(LL has very little bugs. That was certainly a reason too. For instance the very good
Xubuntu 12.04, which I still have on the machine, had for a year all kinds of bugs.
With continued updating that dissappeared. )

I keep a special place in the heart for PCLinuxOS or PCLOS (now the MATE-
version on a partition.) It was my first 'brand' some ten years back.
It has had its ups and downs, but is very good now.
Let me say: I keep playing around and can do my work this way as long as they let us.  :)
And it is the only more of less 'safe' way to go on computers I think.

Had been using PuupyLinux on a USB stick for  resolving computer problems and testing old laptops , also online banking security.
Had tried Puppy full install but limited because of PET sfs requirements.
Came across LL article in business press ( April 2014- lost reference )  that suggested LL 1.06 was a simple changeover option for XP .  Author gave glowing report.

Had tried Mint but too resource hungry for older spec laptops.

Convertee to LL ever since.  Feel that there is a real opportunity to convert business users ( road warriors) to to LL  on their laptops for security reasons !!  encrypting HDD, anti virus, WIFI security etc.

Also the Silver Surfers with older hardware and limited budgets.

Searched around for how to remove some of the bloat from Ubuntu 12.04 LTS as I wasn't too impressed with it, LL was in the search results and here I am :)

Hello, All!

I think Spatry brought me here around the first of the year, also - at least as closely as I can remember...

Think I had stumbled accidentally on Spatry's youtube site late last year, then watched a few of his videos -- one of which was for LL -- and decided to test it out based on his review.  I'm still here, so obviously I liked what I saw.

Was surfing Distro Watch, looking for a new distro to try out. Gave it a run in Virtualbox for a month or so, then made the plunge because Debian 7.6 XFCE wasn't fulfilling my needs. Haven't looked back since (and that's saying something, since I've been a distro hopper since finding Linux).  ;D
