Started using Windows at Work with Windows 2.1.
Over many years I have flirted with Linux on and off, but I was never really comfortable with it.

Early this year something peaked my interest again, I played around with Zorin(I really liked that), Linux Mint(Good, But heavy), CentOS & Fedora(To much hardwork)
Then whilst looking at some YouTube Videos I came across Linux Lite, I think a "Puppyworld Video"
I gave it a go, have it on 2 PC's and a Laptop, I'm still here now, and it's working out great for me.

My only issue at present,
Integrated WiFi(RTL8188CE)on an HP Laptop, very slow and intermittent connection.
Googling shows I'm not alone with this RTL8188CE issue.
Upgrades WIP 2.6 to 2.8 - (6 X 2.6 to 2.8 completed on: 20/02/16 All O.K )

I had Windows XP and like many was looking to move on.  I had read in magazines of Linux and thought I’d try this.  I started with Gnome/Ubuntu 11 and then 12 for about a year on a dual boot.  At first I was amazed at being able to install though found it difficult to add the printer and skype.  Then found that Gnome / Ubuntu  was just getting bigger and bigger taking longer to load and this reminded me of Windows.  I was looking for something smaller / quicker so looked on the net and in youtube for alternative distro’s.  I looked at Xububtu, Kububtu and also Mint.  These were fine but not quite what I was seeking.  Then I came across Linux Lite tried it and was very impressed.  Despite being based on Ubuntu 14 it was simpler to operate and to install Skype and my printer.  It really is terrific using this replacing an old ex Windows XP machine.  Thanks for such a great product.

I love LL2. But do all of you have stable icons on the desktop? That was not perfect here. So I wait a little. :)

That makes three so far for Spatry!  8)

Make that six.  :)

Watched both of Spatry's Linux Lite playlists before installing what has become my favourite distro.

I was looking for a lightweight DE that wasn't Xubuntu or Lubuntu.

I used distrowatch.org and found Linux Lite and was also recommended it by people at linuxquestion.org and decided to give it a try.

Really like it. Now just trying to get 'aero snap' or a similar feature to work.

I had tried 2 or 3 different Linux distros over the last 2 or 3 years.  I didn't like any of them as 1) I wasn't gifted with a whole lot of brains and 2) there was a pretty big learning curve for most of the distros (or...see 1) ).  I had gone back to Win7 and was enjoying it (and still have it on my laptop) when someone who has been trying to convert me for years suggested LL.  I checked out the site, d/l'ed it and here I am.  I still have Win7 on an SSD but that will be coming off and replaced by a back up of LL as soon as I can figure out how to back it up.

I started with PCLinuxOS 2006. on that forum for a while, then tried Phoenix lite on the laptop, Was running very well. Win xp was slow as hell as usual and Phoenix lite was beating it on boot up every time. Then Valtam came out with LL and I tried the Live cd and loved it. A few months later when LL 1.06 came out I installed on the laptop and it was great. Skipped LL 1.08 on the laptop and went to Beryl once it was finished. Love it... Great replacement for Win XP I rarely go into it now. Have Beryl on my main pc as well with dual 32 bit processors. Thinking about putting it on the newer desktop with quad core. I recommend it to everyone that asks.

I have 3 of my friends also using it/trying it out.

I read a review in Linux Format Magazine (the one that is quoted on the LL homepage) and given that they are usually quite hard to please their opinion made it worth a look. I nearly didn't bother but I did and that was one of the better decisions I have made.

Ha ha ha. Pretty much small but still packed with a lot of cool stuffs. No hassle just boot right on your usb stick. Back then I'm sick of WINDOWS crap, like viruses, and malwares, updates, very slow boot time, slow response, lag, fragment stuff, and tricky Installing of softwares like Photoshop, After effects,Sony Vegas,AutoCaD,pretty much any software you can think of, and even games all of them are PIRATED. I just don't have the money cause I'm still a student and I live in a third world country. I've tried puppy linux and till then i stopped being a software pirate, if that's what you call it. In GNU/LINUX almost every software available is free(free as in freedom not free as free beer - RMS) fast, stable and, it just works like magic.Thanks. -Mark

That is coincidence. I have played around a bit with an old Pup Precise 5.4.3 yesterday and today. Just for fun. A lot of function for such tiny software.

More than a year ago I've decided to try linux again after several failed attempts using puppy linux and ubuntu. i found it somewhere on the internet, probably because of google i can't remember. It's easy to use, fast and light. Now I have 64 bit and 32 bit Linux Lite installed on my laptop. I'm not going back to windows crap.

Spatry did it for me too. I did try a few other distros as well, but I found LL the best for me and for my grandchildren's computer as well (both are older XP machines).

I must say that I love using LL! Sometimes I just turn the computer one for no reason except to look at my new OS and fiddle around with the nobs without actually leaving the garage - I guess it would be the same feeling if I had bought a '68 Mustang :)
