The internationalization of fonts without simple LO localization options is one of my pet peeves with LibreOffice. Even with aptitude from the terminal handling the removal can become dependency hell. LOs devs position on the problem (sluggish font interface both in LO and gnome fonts) dumps the load for the unnecessary mess on Debian system devs. Of course versions vary between distros, but if you are an English speaking user it's best to avoid any vanilla installation of LO and add what you need afterwards through your system rather than LO. Personally I only want a good fast word processor, with an adequate selection of web viewable fonts, and HP true type fonts, and maybe a few font eye-candy options. I can only think in about 3 1/2 languages and Latin is one of them, which really doesn't matter much these days.

They're a bit late to the party. We've had Noto for a long time now.

Hello,

I recently read that the newest LM now ships with Google's Noto fonts. I looked into it and and I can see why. The aim of the fonts is to support all of the world's languages. Personally, I like the way they look too.

And because I'm addicted to Thunar's custom actions, I made one for installing fonts.

Description: Move fonts to ~/.fonts
Command: mv %N ~/.fonts
File Pattern: *.ttf;*.otf;*.ttc

thanks
