bitsnpcs and jerry.........today I was finally able to find a place to download the two files. I run the script in terminal as you have explained and reboot.
Magically THE WI FI works...........hurrraaaa I am so happy .
I am now updating the all system and so far everything work flawlessly..........
I can’t thank you enough..........great job...... once again thank you immensely.

If you can get someone to download these two files onto a USB:

http://repo.linuxliteos.com/linuxlite/pool/main/l/lite-kernel/linux-headers-linuxlite-4.14.0_0010_amd64.deb

http://repo.linuxliteos.com/linuxlite/pool/main/l/lite-kernel/linux-image-linuxlite-4.14.0_0010_amd64.deb

Then copy them in your home folder. Then open a terminal and do:

sudo dpkg -i *.deb
Reboot. Try that.

Ok thanks.........I have to wait till May then. I am a crew member onboard a commercial ship and we don't have routers onboard. Everything is on Wi-Fi...................Anyhow thank you. I will still use Lite, it works well and I start to enjoy it. I am sure once I solve the issues of the Wi-Fi I will enjoy even more.

I tried but it is asking me to be connected to the internet which obviusly I can't.........I am writing all this posts in Win10 and I switch back and forth from Lite to Win10.

........any other option or should I just wait to try to find a router and connect by LAN to see if it working and eventually update the kernel???

Reboot after you have finished with the task.
