Hi, i am coming from windows 7 to linux first time so if i ask any stupid question please forgive me. So, my question is when i as using Win7 i used DU Meter to track my internet speed in realtime without the need of opening any other application as it is always visible on the taskbar so i as wondering if there is any same solution for Linux Lite that can add Internet Speed on the panel ?

Hi @kurogami555 and welcome to the forums.  There's a panel plugin for it; xfce4-netload-plugin. To install it you can open synaptics, hit the win key and type synaptics it should appear, hit enter and a window will open asking for your password, type it in, once synaptics's open look for the "xfce4-netload-plugin" in the search bar. Then, select it and hit apply. Once installed close synaptic, right-click on the panel and select "add new item", a window will open, in the search bar type netload and it should appear, click on it and then hit the add button, close that window. Right-click on panel, go to panel and select "panel preferences", the xfce panel preferences dialog will open, go to the "items" tab and the "netload plugin" should be at the bottom, select it and hit the up arrow so you place it at will in the panel, once you're satisfied with its position close that window. Now, right-click on the netload plugin and selct properties, the plugin's window settings will open, where it reads "network device" type in yours i.e wlan0 for wireless, eth0 for wired. You can find out about your network device by opening a terminal and typing
Code: [Select]
$ ifconfig or hit win key and type system and you should see "system inormation" select it and hit enter and look under networ interfaces. Once you're finished close that window and that should be it.  Read here https://docs.xfce.org/xfce/xfce4-panel/preferences if you want to know more about what you can do wit your xfce panel.

You could also install it via terminal; open a terminal and type
Code: [Select]
$ sudo apt-get install xfce4-netload-plugin when asked for your sudo password type it in and wait till the install process finishes, once it does, add the plugin to the panel the way I just described above.
Hope this helps!

Thank you, Sir for your reply and i apologize for late answering was preparing for exams.
