Blueman Paring the Device but not connecting

Hello!

I HAVE been able to get my Bluetooth adapter and headset going in LL 2.0, but one has to do a few things. Colin and I were discussing this personally not long ago, but I should have cross-posted some of this into the forum.

I have NOT tried the PPA yet, but you will have to install what's mentioned in post #15 above FIRST - BEFORE you try that or what's mentioned in my previous post in the forum. As things stand NOW, after I turn on the headset service, I need to enter

pactl load-module module-bluetooth-discover
EVERY time I boot into Linux Lite (it returns a number) before it will let me enable A2DP and Audio Sink to use the stereo headset.

I'll take another look into this to see if this new PPA helps any, and get back to you guys.

UPDATE: Added PPA, installed updated blueman from PPA, problem solved.

Will post the whole shooting match into a separate thread in a day or so, and leave the link here.

These computers are maddening as they are not all identical and behave differently.
Rob and I had the same trouble in  1.0.8

Dear Colin,

Thanks for the mail, I tried many other options from blueman and ubuntu forums recommendation, but nothing worked, finally i rolled back my LL to 1.08 and its working fine as earlier. I personally believe that there is something to be fixed with the new version of LL 2.0 as this feature is working like breeze in LL 1.08.

Hi all,

blueman maintainer here. I understand this is not 100 % a blueman problem, but blueman is definitely having its part.

As you found out, there is a blueman applet plugin that unloads pulseaudio's bluetooth-discover module and handles devices manually. The original author let me know that this is due to pulseaudio (the discovery module especially) not working well back then. For more details see https://github.com/blueman-project/blueman/issues/64

I've prepared a blueman version without that pulseaudio applet plugin, but still including the manager plugin. That one is responsible for selecting the A2DP profile. Although there are other ways to do this (e.g. PulseAudio Volume Control as mentioned above), it seems like this is a useful feature to some users.

I had similar problems - there appears to be a problem in Ubuntu . Take a look at this post by Rob .

 I am not sure if he was able to get it rectified at source . I have not tried to use bluetooth headset  recently

Dear All,

I just upgraded to LL 2.0, the Blueman Bluetooth manager detects the BT device, Pairs but dose not connect, it says "Device added successfully bu not connected". But the same works very fine when i boot with LL1.08.

I use a Dell Vostro Laptop with Intel chip set

Can anybody help me in this regard.
