I have an acer extensa 5620 and i can only get 100mbps speed. On my lenovo thinkpad i had 340mbps with linux lite is there an update i could get for gigabit ethernet speed thanks.
From a quick search it looks like your 5620 has a gigabit capable network chipset but only a 100Mbit capable transceiver (actual network hardware interface) so there is no software solution.  The Wifi chipset is only good for 54Mbit/s (max theoretical).

To get better performance you could try using a gigabit USB network interface into one of the USB 2 ports - you won't get full gigabit speeds but probably somewhere about what you were getting with your Lenovo.  A TP-Link UE-300 has worked well for me in both USB 3 and USB 2 ports with Lite 4.x and 5.x.
