Extremely large building can create their own weather, also. An example is NASA's Vertical Assembly Building at Cape Canaveral, Florida. Built to protect the moon rockets from the elements during assembly, NASA found out that due to the sheer size of the building, it created its own storms inside...

Large forest fires tend to make their own weather...have seen this type of lightning while travelling in the air to battle them.
Created the clouds mixed with the smoke and used the lighting effects filter for the lightning...pretty close to the real thing...
