A huge thank you to Wirezfree for donating to this development. For the record (and I hope I don't embarrass him with this) Wirezfree is now the number 1 contributor in terms of total amount donated to Linux Lite. Please everyone, thank him for this!

59 submissions now :) I've asked the web dev for a quote on two new features:

- make the db searchable
- show the total count of machines submitted

The cost is a little high compared to the total cost for the original code, so I'll see if I can negotiate with him.

We have 39 submissions to date. This I think, is enough to confirm that the software produces the desired results. A huge thank you to everyone who participated in this! I'll set this to be the default Hardware Database page and post links to the .deb files on the web page. This will be bundled into LL 3.0 :)

All files that get uploaded go into a queue. You only need to submit once, it will show eventually depending on queue size. Check the next day if you need to. :)

@Jerry, when I first uploaded info it was in afternoon Eastern Standard Time US. After about 2 hours or so, it had not showed up on the webpage so I tried again close to 17:00 EST US. I checked again and it had been posted. The posted time shows: User Submitted on 02/13/2016 14:45. If that is my time it could be my first upload and it could just be a consequence that it posted right after I uploaded it again because 14:45 could be the time I first uploaded. :-\

Uploaded data for two 'low spec' machines, both of which run LL2.8 very successfully.
1: ASUS eeePC 901 running LL on a 32GB class 10 SDHC card

2: ASUS eeePC 701SD running LL on 8GB SSD with 16GB SDHC for data storage.

There must be thousands of these models lying dormant which can be given new life. They were originally sold with a version of linux (can't remember which), a very poor and unreliable build due to the fact that the update method quickly filled the  SSD and the PC became unusable. That does not happen with LinuxLite.

 :) :) :)
1) Lenovo T520 i5 LL3.8 8GB ram, fast & stable
2) Medion P4 32bit LL3.8 1GB ram, quite fast & stable
3) eeePC 901 32bit LL3.8 1GB ram, fast & stable
4) eeePC 701 32bit LL3.8 1GB ram, slower & stable but small and light enough to travel with me to New Zealand when visiting family in Blenheim.

This is great! We have an amazing community here :)

Software on both sides seems to be doing its job.

It's not that simple sorry. It would require a complete rewrite of most of the code. Memory is only available in recent versions of inxi. The extra cost here is the other consideration for this.

This is great folks :) There are no privacy issues here. Every section was gone over and tested thoroughly before we launched this as a public beta.

I'll see what I can do about the ram thing. This has been the most challenging software to date. The more we add to it, the more it costs and we have to draw the line at some point for cost vs time spent.

We're unlikely to fine tune this beyond what it already does. The beta test focuses on app bugs in all areas of the code.

Jerry, wouldn't Conky be a simple solution to that issue ?(memory display) Some customizations would be required (how/where to display)but this issue would be resolved.
