Happy to use core  starter on this twin core Fuji Si1520.  Currently on L5.4. 3 GB Ram .  Starting to struggle a bit.  Hopefully CORE approach would overcome this.  Fairly early adopter of LL (2014?.

What I meant is having some users try and use Lite Core before any RC release.

What is the reason please?

Provide better feedback regarding features and settings, yes, I know RCs are meant with that same purpose, but I just think it would be a good idea having some of the more "experienced" users(selected by you)to try and use Lite Core prior to any RC release, given it is a "Core" edition, thus they might see things( LL's target audience might not)and suggest ways to improve it. Just a thought.     :55:

This might sound like a "wild" idea, but what about having some "insider program" like thing for Lite Core? Having some users to try and use Lite Core before any RC, so they can provide better feedback on most relevant features and settings.

Like the main LL, Core will likely have an RC.

Thanks for all those anwsers Jerry!
Yeah... no, forget the burn to CD idea then, XFCE is a must, even in Lili Core. ;)

Thinking about Trinidad ;) ... would using the Debian version Ubuntu is based on be worth it considering.
I know I'm speaking through my hat not even knowing if Debian has an LTS version but I mean would the ressources/size and workaround to compensate for lost Ubuntu functions break the project?

Could a stupid question, you don't have to go into details, you can tell me "Sit down n00b!" ;)

Like mentionned, if the apps/software from Full are all available trough Lite Software, that would be great.
I would vote to leave Firewall for security reasons and Partitionning software too because seems more "OS" then app.

I'll install Whiskers from there, since I "need" it. ;)

Firewall will be a part of the choices Menu, people seem divided on GUFW and FirewallD for example. With Core, 2 apps doing the same job would be like an overweight person insisting they are skinny (Gnome Disks looks after this task).

Well I have two suggestions. wish? ;)
1. Be able to burn on a CD... A challenge to Jerry ? Dun dun dunnnn!
2. Have only ONE background image with the Linux Lite leaf in the form of a wire frame mesh

1. Yup no worries, if we use Enlightenment as the DE :)
2. Changing the original logo is highly risky, I'd have to give that some serious consideration.

Safe to ignore in a VM. That extra space is taken up by the ISO building process.

@Jerry
I think the user was making a point about the 7GB, not the 20GB.

Yes, exactly. I was referring to the fact that for a Core edition, it took 7 GiB of space in the disk, which IMHO seems like much given the fact that Core is a reduced Linux Lite instance, thus it should need less space, unless there are other stuff like music, downloads, documents, pictures and the like which would explain the "extra" space used in the disk as well, otherwise ...  I would expect Lite Core to need no more than 2-3 GiB of disk space to install.

I would be interested in Lite Core, so that is another vote in favour.
