    • Linux Lite OS

  • CPU: Intel Core i9-10850K CPU @ 3.60GHz

  • MEMORY: 32Gb

  • VIDEO CARD: nVidia GeForce GTX 1650

Coming along nicely, lots and lots (and lots) of typing, over 70 Countries supported. Larger Countries will have more than one choice, eg. United Kingdom
Aiming for this to be in 3.4 (time permitting)

good idea Jerry,

depends on the load, sometimes it's hotter somewhere else if you're not hardwired.
changed from Windows 10 to a REAL OS

Thanks Scott. I'm just testing the water with Lite Sources. Not sure where or when it will turn up at this stage.

Hi Jerry

I think this is great.

Maybe the title could be changed from "Select Repository Source" to "This Will Select the Fastest Repository Source" (or something similar) as another insurance to eliminate confusion/clarify for the new customers. Just a thought though.

Great work. I *really* like how LL 3.2 is shaping up.

One of the ideas behind this is to take the confusion out of repo selection per Country.

Step 1: Launch program, enter password.
Step 2: Select Country repo, click Change Source.

I'll select the best sources for each Country, in larger countries eg. somewhere like the USA, it will have Eastern, Central, Western etc.

That's it, all the magic happens 'behind the scenes'.
Ubuntu Software Sources also gives you the choice of reloading which isn't really necessary.
I'm always looking for ways to simplify the experience for Windows folks, hence this project.

I'm now getting to the point where in the future, there may be a special Category in WhiskerMenu called 'Lite Apps' or similarly named, where all our apps are located.

Lite Apps >
  • Lite Info
  • Lite Software
  • Lite Sources
  • Lite Tweaks
  • Lite Upgrade
  • Lite User Manager
  • Lite Welcome
Something to be considered for Series 4.

I agree with Jocklad.

Would this take away the choice to run a speed test for people familiar with the repo/update concept?

Would probably be easier for someone just coming from Windows.

Would this software be easier to use or surplus to requirements?
