Hello!
No go on 3.19.0 for me - locks up at login screen.

Had to update my bcmwl-kernel-source to the latest version to install 3.15.0. I get errors on certain programs in the kernel boot sequence (for example, evince), but the programs seem to still work.

If I notice any more odd behaviors AT ALL, I will also be rolling back to 3.13.24. Just posted all this to illustrate Jerry's point as to WHY it isn't always best to upgrade kernels...

Hello!

YMMV, but I've done the kernel upgrade on several dual-booters - one of then a netbook - with no issues. Of course, my previous warning not to remove the old kernel too quickly applies...

Can this be used on dual boot netbooks?

I don't see why not, at the end of the kernel install grub update is run so your entries should stay the same. Not a bad idea to keep grub-customizer handy just incase, and, you should only get the kernel if it offers something you need, like new hardware support etc.

Kernel upgrades should only be carried out if you have bleeding edge hardware that is not currently supported in your default kernel. ...

Thanks. That satisfied my curiosity.  8)

... If it ain't broke...

I knew you would tell me that again. ;D ;D ;D

Hello!

Just DON'T use Lite Cleaner to remove the old kernel until you're sure the new kernel didn't break something you're dependent on - ESPECIALLY if you use older hardware. That said, I will probably wait to upgrade the kernel until after I use the 2.2 upgrade script, and deal with any consequences that may arise as a result...

Any reason to update kernel if everything is working fine with the kernel that came in LL 2.0?  :-\

Can you show me where please? I aim to please. If OK. I am going to crash for tonight. Will do it tomorrow.

I used the search feature on the Forums, would you like me to wipe to? :)

Good Morning. Thanks for the morning grin  :) .

I thought last night. What is Jerry talking about? Move my post to the Kernel forum section. I thought I had posted there already. Like my previous posts in the past.
Being a gullible trusting soul sometimes.
I walk right to the end of the walk till the chain jerks.

So are you having fun. Jerking my chain?  I enjoy a good laugh at my expense.
Being a self assured scooter tramp with no insecurities.
Or. Am I so thick in the head. I miss the point entirely?
Which has been known to happen also.

Either way. I still don't know where to move my post to. Because.

Funny how I can stroll through Linux file structure comfy like. But get lost in the woods on forum stuff.  :D
