As for programming books try this link:

There are several books available for literally any programming language you might want to learn. If you want to try a new programming language, may I suggest Rust? Since Mozilla will be going to endorse it quite soon, that might be an excellent starting point. Plus the language is very easy to learn and laid out simply.
