Thanks for the welcome. Still having Bluetooth GPS serial link problems. Won't post the details on this thread though. Once I've delved a little deeper into gpsd, rfcomm, bluetoothctl, bluez, Blueman, etc. I'll be back.

Welcome! You don't have to learn a whole 'nother language to use Linux Lite, fortunately! The help manual and most forum help is in plain language that most casual computer users can easily understand. You have come to the right place, and chosen the perfect Linux distribution both for Windows users and people like me who are scared of "pushing the wrong button and blowing something up." Enjoy!

Hello from one who is making the transition from Windows to Linux.

I've downloaded  several lightweight Linux distros trying to find one that a) works more or less straight out of the box, b) I'm comfortable with and c) offers good support. Linux Lite looks like it may be the best compromise for my aged hardware, a Samsung N110 netbook.

So far, so good. The only thing giving me trouble is getting Blueman to free up my Bluetooth serial port for other software to use. Details to follow, when I get totally lost, as I don't speak 'Linux' very well yet.
