Title: Happy News
Post by: Crazy Larry on October 15, 2017, 09:49:24 AM
I have an old Asus laptop x53e with Windows 7 got so slow it was useless.  Finally I googled how to open up the bios.  I knew how but as soon as I press the on button I had to immediately hit the delete button....Happy news, I was able to install  LL 3.6 and WOW!....new life for the old laptop.  It hums along at a pretty good clip now!!!!!!

Well done, and welcome.

For testing, I'm using a 7 year old ex-Win 7 Acer laptop.  It too has a new lease of life with LL!

@Crazy Larry ,

Welcome to the forum.  You're in the right place!

For housekeeping purposes, can you please have your forum profile reflect that you are indeed using Linux Lite 3.6 instead of Linux Lite 3.0?

Please could you do a menu/system/share hardware config to the database to help others newbies who may be in the same bpat as you with the Asus.  Thanks and welcome :)

This is gonna sound weird........After install,  The laptop battery took a full charge and is working very well.  Before install, I was ready to order a new battery because I thought it was bad since it wouldn't charge.  That's my story and I'm sticking to it!...  I'm 76...retired...worked in Vegas for 35 years at the Stardust in the crap pit.  I was a road musician for several years before I moved to Vegas.

@Crazy Larry ,

This shows Linux Lite 3.0 64bit, when it should show Linux Lite 3.6 64bit.
