Hello Jerry,
at what level of post count does the feather number increase above 1000 posts?

It doesn't, it stops at 1000. We could review this now that the Forum has reached a certain stage.

Thank you, the forum has grown hugely over these past 4 years, since last review, and continues at an increasing rate. :)

I would like to see and suggest a custom feather design for you, or an additional row, as the creator of LL, as a visual representation on the forum.I know you probably don't want it, based on the past reviews, but it is overdue.

I'm always open to suggestions, where did you get the idea I wouldn't be 'based on the past reviews' ?

'based on past reviews' - in the first ranking system, and the review of this to begin the current ranking system, you haven't had custom feather count.
So I can see that, but also I have read your post wrote a long time ago now, about those applying for the team should have a humble character as it is how the team are.
I think then it may be the reason why it has not been implemented previously, so I suggest it that you can accept this as suggested by someone else.
Yes there is a team of developers, but you are the one that had/has the vision for the concept that became LL, and shaped it to become what it is.
Concepts and vision are what things grow from (with a lot of hard work), thinking, seeing, and being the root, of it.

I wonder if @whateverthing would like to have a go at this. I imagine some kind of medallion or badge would be suitable?

Eg.

Having badges for 2k, 5k, 10k. Is that what you mean @bitsnpcs ?

Initially I meant a custom badge only for you.For everyone else an increase in the feathers available (like current system) but so that it also increases for above 1000.

Removed my off topic paragraph

I don't see it on your nym Jerry

@whateverthing will you consider making for the About LL app, a custom logo size for the main banner (150x49) and menubar icon at the similar height as the menu font, this will reduce the space above the fonts on the about app ?
If you have time to do this I will add a new comment line in the code to ensure recognition for your work on the collaboration, by adding a new comment line - Artwork (icons and banner) by @whateverthing,
if you are using a different nym/name for artwork usually, I can put this if you specify which.

Off topic. I don't think we need this. I already have the artwork ready and in the final code it will point to an actual path in the 5.x themes package.

Cool idea. I have seen badges in several contexts. Some of them level-up, like those with the number in a red circle in the above examples. What exactly are the badges that would be appropriate here?
- number of posts (levels up)
- reputation (levels up)
- developer / chief developer
- donor

Number of Posts, 2k 5k 10k 20k 50k 100k should future proof us nicely. Reputation would be a good one, open to suggestions / levels for that. Developer, Donor already taken care of.

Well, I thought, if we add a badge system, it would be nice if they had a unified look and feel. I'm picturing the badges as something distinct from each user's avatar. Right now, some of the things are a modified avatar. So "moderator" could also be a badge, added to the list of possibilities. And earned badges could take over for the current post-count feathers system (1 post, 50 posts, 100, 250...). That's what I'm imagining anyway. Just throwing the ideas out there.

For reputation levels, they are harder to earn, so I'd suggest 25, 50, 100, 150, 200, 300, 400, 500. It could max out at 500, which is already beyond reach for most, or could keep going for future insurance. (It would probably just mean changing the number text on the graphic and saving another output file.)

I've sketched a few badge design ideas. I'll keep tinkering with it, as I have time.
