Yes, to install the 64bit, d/l and burn the 64bit iso to dvd (or usb), you can select in the install options from live dvd -
wipe and install LL
OK, but I think i will wait till I have the RAM first. In the meantime, I will keep going through the book by Shotts.

Welcome Steve.  Just out of interest,  why did you choose the 32 bit version when you have all that RAM?    Also how do you find Libre Office  for your writing. ?
I just found out I can put up to 8 gb RAM in this laptop, which means it is 64bit machine, but I installed the 32 bit LL. If I want to max the RAM to the 8 GB will I have to reformat and install LL X64?

Hi
Switched to Linux Lite to put my money where my mouth is. My feeling is that my last distro was run by folks who's hobby is wring new operating systems and not fixing bugs. For me there have been a few bells and whistles added but basically the OS on my Macintosh Performa had it cracked 20 years ago. Fed up with ridiculous filing systems, going round the houses to create a favorites file and don't want my CPU clogging up with daft things like transparent windows.
So here I am.
