Title: Asus K50C and Sis 671 VGA.
Post by: Emanuel65 on January 13, 2020, 05:29:04 AM
Hi to everybody!
I'm Emanuel from Italy, I have just installed Linux Lite 4.6 on my Asus K50C  and get  1024x768 resolution with Vesa driver. I used instructions from: https://www.puolanka.org/goto/how-to-use-vesa-graphic-driver/
Linux Lite seems to work fine, only a little slow on booting.
I hope this may help users of Sis671.

@Emanuel65

Welcome!!!

If you want to speed up LL and dont need virtualbox..
As per the release notes https://www.linuxliteos.com/forums/release-announcements/linux-lite-4-0-final-released/

Code: [Select]
sudo apt purge virtualbox*
sudo systemctl stop vboxadd.service
sudo systemctl stop vboxadd-service.service
sudo systemctl disable vboxadd.service
sudo systemctl disable vboxadd-service.service

You mention 4.6 - you can also use Lite Upgrade to update to the latest version LL4.8

Thanks! I will apply that as soon as possible. LL is very surprising, I think it will become the main distro on all my notebooks.
