Please don't ask me why; but a while ago I uninstalled Wine. Now it wont re-install, not from "install additional software" or from the Synaptic PM. I even uninstalled it from the Synaptic PM first ( it was showing as being still there) and re-installed it but did not work. I don't get wine showing up in the Menu, if I search for it I get "Run wine" and clicking on this produces no result at all.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks

Open up a terminal and try:
sudo apt-get install wine1.7
If that does not work, paste the results in your next post.

It installed wine 1.7, but still not in the Menu (I can't take a screen shot as the menu disappears before that can be done) when I search for "wine" I get 'Run wine' in bold lettering but with no avatar also I get wine cfg; wine console and winemine but nothing else.
thanks

Have you performed any menu editing whatsoever since you first install LL?

Menu>Accessories>Screenshot?

Hi Alex,
The Screenshot icon can easily be added to either the Desktop or Panel or both.
Menu > All > Right-Click on Screenshot > Add to Desktop
Menu > All > Right-Click on Screenshot > Add to Panel
Hopefully that will help a little.

Hi alex,
this will take an instant screenshot
xfce4-screenshooter -f
You can add a keyboard shorcut to run this command
Menu > Settings Keyboard > Application Shortcuts
This way you will take a screenshot of the entire screen with a keyboard combination.

Hello Alex,
I right click desktop and select screenshot.
On the screenshot GUI it has options I tick "Active Window" , and increase the "Delay before Capturing" to 3 seconds.
I then click OK and open the menu.

Thank you all:

I don't remember if I did anything to the Menu editing, it's possible...

winecfg opens the wine configuration. Is that what you need?

Yes that is right, but Wine should show up in the menu, right? I should not have to search for it, also 'wine tricks' is not there and the whole thing does not look like when I first installed LL. Also what does the "run wine" mean? if I click it or double click it nothing happens, so what does it do?
Something does not feel right... :(

Something went wrong with the whisker menu shortcuts.
Right-click on the menu and then on Edit Applications.

you'll have to make an item for wine tricks manually
+ New Item
Name : Winetricks
Command : winetricks
Description : Install applications on Wine
run wine - it shows up because you can run any application from a whisker meny just type in firefox and run firefox will show up.
You can't run wine without parametars like the path to the windows application
wine C:\\Program\ Files\\MyPrg\\test.exe

As usual, thanks to Misko for his efforts! :)
