Title: PySolFC freezes
Post by: zaivala on April 25, 2019, 11:36:25 AM
I normally install five simple games on my system:

KMines
KMahjongg
KNetwalk
Nethack-X11
and PySolFC.

KMines works fine. Nethack works fine.

PySolFC loads, but as soon as I click a card, the entire system freezes. I have had this happen on one other distro, and did not attempt to solve it.

KMahjongg loads the window, but never sets a board (no tiles, just an all-white window). Never had this happen before.

Any ideas?

All were installed through Synaptic.

PySolFC - https://github.com/shlomif/PySolFC/issues/110
KMahjongg - is a KDE app, we don't support software created for the KDE desktop environment, only XFCE.

Well, it can't be the music freezing up, because I've already successfully disabled all sounds.

And KDE games run in nearly any desktop, given the dependencies being met, and KMines runs fine.  KNetwalk doesn't even begin to load, so there is apparently a problem there.

If there was an equivalent set of XFCE games, I'd try them, but I've used these KDE games on just about every Linux distro (and even in KDE for Windows). I recently evaluated MX Linux, which also is strictly XFCE (well, they do let you use MATE if you really want to), and these games ran there.

But oh well. A minus is a minus. This is not a dealbreaker.

You should report the bug to the appropriate developer, make them aware of it.
