I'm not sure where to put this, but here it is.

I have been having font rendering issues since Day One. Especially the MS fonts were not doing well, particularly my favored Verdana, and especially in WINE and in LibreOffice.

I finally figured out that I should check my aliasing settings (at Appearance under Control Center), and after tweaking the aliasing to slight good effect I noticed the monitor was set to a custom dpi of 96. I unchecked that to bring it back to standard, and instantly the display cleared up. Even Verdana now is just as it was under Windows. The lessening of eyestrain is wonderful.

I don't know if the 96 dpi setting was intentional on my part or part of the LL default, but this was a major breakthrough for me.
