Title: Pixeluvo
Post by: Darryl Roberts on June 28, 2015, 08:42:26 PM
Hi,

I am a Linux neophyte so forgive me. I want a machine (building it) that will allow me to photo edit. I don't need Photoshop. Pixeluvo , will it run in Linux Lite, also is there software to open Nikon raw .nef files?

Thank you

Pixeluvo runs on Linux Lite. For raw .nef files you may have to install ufraw.

Code: [Select]
sudo apt-get install ufraw

The two front runners for opening raw files in linux are Darktable and RawTherapee.
http://www.darktable.org/
http://www.rawtherapee.com/
They are both actively being developed and both have extensive tutorials.

https://pixls.us/software/   has a thorough list and links of photography software in the FOSS world.
