OK ,,, finally got mine working. Here is what I did.
Go to your home directory,  show hidden files,  delete  .pia_manager (which is not a directory}
Re-install  using directions here
 https://www.privateinternetaccess.com/installer/download_installer_linux
give it time and PIA login finally opened.  put in user/pass and check appropriate boxes, save.
right click pia manger icon and connect.

I too can not get PIA working, it worked fine on 3.2, but after doing a clean install of 3.4, PIA no longer worked.
I tried the suggested install for encrypted drives with no success. My system is not encrypted as far as I know, just a normal install.
I can now not even do a normal install, it says folder and files are already there, but when checking with file manager/show hidden files, the folder/files are not there.
Does installer remember past installs and think files are still there?
I have tried install using terminal, as per PIA sites instructions, with same results.

Could someone walk me through removing and re-installing properly showing commands to use?

Thank You
so it not just me.  ok intreasting

Hi Bluzeo,
Is your home folder encrypted? This can cause PIA to crash.
