Post by: ??? ???? on July 02, 2015, 11:22:56 AM
     I can not install MultiSystem LiveUSB Multiboot. I wanted to ask a question at the forum, but found on the Russian site http://compizomania.blogspot.com/2013/09/multisystem-liveusb-multiboot.html detailed step by step instructions for installing in Ubuntu and Linux Mint. This installation method for using Mint, I have achieved a positive result in Linux Lite.
Maybe this information will be useful.

        MultiSystem LiveUSB Multiboot -
a great program for creating a bootable flash drives.
     To create a bootable USB-drive images from CD / DVD in Ubuntu there are many ways. One of the most powerful and versatile software for problems of this kind - MultiSystem LiveUSB Multiboot. It is very easy to use, easy to install on a computer, has a multilingual interface. Its main feature is the ability to easily create multiboot USB-drives, that is, those which contain multiple images, with a choice at startup. Thus, the space on your flash drive will not be wasted. Because of the nice features is the possibility of a painless removal of unwanted images to free up space, the built-in links to the set of distributions for different purposes, divided into categories and a very impressive number of additional functions, including even an interesting opportunity to test Live-images on the drive using an emulator without leaving system.

Installing MultiSystem LiveUSB Multiboot in Linux Lite:
In Linux Lite you need to connect manually repository: Synaptic -> Setting -> Repositoris->

1) Other software: Add->

2) deb http://liveusb.info/multisystem/depot all main (copy / paste in APT line ),

3) Key Add sourse,

4) Refresh cache and close the Synaptic.

Next, run the following command in the terminal:

wget -q http://liveusb.info/multisystem/depot/multisystem.asc -O- | sudo apt-key add -

sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install multisystem -y

    After that, for example, Xubuntu program once established, and Linux Lite is why some do not. But the opportunity to install it through Synaptic.
     The program works very well, it can help set the stick 16 GB 12 distro. The same way to install software on Linux Point.
     USB flash drive must be formatted in Fat32 only.

I have been using Multisystem for a couple years, and it works great. Follow instructions below and worked for me in LinuxLite 2.4.
Not for beginners, so always think before acting, and be patient for the program to respond.
Great way to test multiple Distros, or have several versions such as LinuxLite 2.2, 2.4, 2.6 all on one stick.

Hello!

Thanks for posting this. I have been looking for a way to do this in Linux.

It took 220MB of HD space to install MultiSystem LiveUSB Multiboot and all its dependencies. This seems excessive to me, but I guess it's what one must 'pay to play'...

I am trying Multisystem Live USB with the newst LL 3.0 version. Bootin so far is OK, but as far as I select the distro, system starts and appears a login screen. No idea what kind of user name or/and password must be used. Any help?

Welcome!!!
Just an FYI - Several threads depict this issue with LL3.0 and multi-boot...  ;)

But the ID is: "it"
no quotes and blank pw (if memory serves me may have to hit enter 2x)....

Enjoy   ;D

Hello!

I don't think folks search first, but then again, it can be difficult to find things in a search sometimes. Depends on how you word the search, I suppose.

Most of the questions I take on here are getting answered with a simple Google search. (My secret is out!)

Thank for the tip! I didn't know that, and just assumed that 3.0 didn't play nice in a multiboot environment. I'll give it another try...

That memory thing might have me... "it" might of been LL3.0 demo... Final might be the id: "linux".. I have a yumi multi boot, I'll confirm in the next few minutes and I'll update this post...

UPDATE: the yumi multi boot of LL3.0 final ID is: "it"
It should match whats in the upper left corner (the host name)
If installing LL3.0 I would make a standard liveusb vs multiboot.. But for testing it seems ok.
