If you're using Thunderbird they will be in a hidden file in your home directory = /home/coastie/.thunderbird

Open file manager to your home and hit "Ctrl+H" to see hidden directories, which start with a "." (period).

Where are e-mails store in file system? I am thinking I should back them up.
