This helped me too Firenice03 - thanks.

I had an old Acer Aspire 5000 that had num lock on and each time I turned it on would require me to press Fn+F11. I did what you mentioned and despite Num lock on login not being enabled I still clicked on disable (what did I have to lose right?!) and presto Num lock has not come on again.

Menu > System > Lite Tweaks
There is option to enable disable numlocks as well other features.

NumLock is on default, so I have to turn it off whenever I log in to the computer. How can I change that?
