I just installed Wine via Lite Software with no problem.
If you have broken packages, go to Menu, System, Install/Remove Software and fix them there. Then install Wine via Lite Software.

I have WINE installed on Lite3.8 (64bit) and it seems OK.
However, not all software will install.
I found all sorts of problems with Win64bit programs.
Since WINE does not have error messages, and since I'm too old to chase programming problems,,,
I discovered that by downloading the latest Win32bit programs, copy them to Lite, and most would install and run as they should.
Hope this helps.

@UncleTom Thanks for the tip, I'm just starting using 64bits and use Wine... pretty sure this was just a matter of time stublling on this problem.
Cheers!
