Hello!

Can you explain what you understand by "game mode"?
Have you found such a "Linux mode" in any manual?
I'm confused... It's too much guesswork.

Best regards! :)

Feral interactive is a company behind good amount of AAA games ported to Linux. They have created a tool called gamemode that improves performance while gaming.
Their GitHub https://github.com/FeralInteractive/gamemode
I have tri d to build the code from sources and got nowhere.

Thanks for the info! :)
I'm very far from what you might call "gamer".
Yet, I know that Steam, is a platform you can use to play a very long list of games.
Maybe installing Steam, will solve your problem too.
As far as the programming path, maybe the other nice guys round here that are passionate by building various Apps from sources, will help you.

Steam installation, is relatively simple:
Use Lite Software and install it from there.

If there are only sources without any binary, than better wait for an answer from someone who is more experienced with compiling from sources and tweaking programs from code.
Anyway, you should be prepared to work many hours and make heavy use of CLI (Terminal).

One mention about this post:
You should move it into the appropriate section.
Here, "Software Support", means software that is developed as part of Linux Lite distribution.
Games, are nothing like this.

I suggest you to move it to:

See Admin's (Jerry B. ) post about this:

Good luck! :)

Sudo apt install gamemode worked.

Can anyone tell me how to set my repository to Europe instead of US? Will I retain access to all packages?
Should I add repository of debian and Ubuntu to be more successfully finding out programs?

Sudo apt install gamemode worked. [...]

I'm glad you made it! :)

[...] Can anyone tell me how to set my repository to Europe instead of US? [...]

Go to:

Synaptic Package Manager ---> Settings ---> Software & Updates (or, directly Software & Updates).

On the tab, you'll see a ComboBox with an URL. Click the ComboBox.
Now, instead of choosing another address, click the option "Other...". This will bring up another window. Click the button "Choose best server". This will trigger a speed test.
After the test is finished, choose the fastest server in the list. Usually, the first result.

[...] Will I retain access to all packages?
Should I add repository of debian and Ubuntu to be more successfully finding out programs?

All I can say, is that I changed my server to a Romanian mirror. I never had any kind of trouble so far. Further more, I upgraded to Linux Lite 6.2 and everything went flawlessly.
So, as far as my practice goes, nothing else in necessary. Just choose the fastest server and it's done.

Best regards! :)
