The biggest benefit to Linux users having antivirus software is for the sake of their friends who use Windows.  Even though your own system may not be vulnerable to most malware, you can forward it to others via e-mail or other forms of sharing.  It can be a filter for your friends on Windows.

I'm certainly not in a position to make any definite statement about it, but the Lite manual does say

"Viruses can occur on any computer system. The following tutorial is a collection of commands that allows you to scan your entire system for viruses.

Install the virus scanner:   [etc.] "

file:///usr/share/doc/litemanual/tutorials.html?q=virus&x=4&y=6&per_page=7&matchtype=0#antivirus

So maybe there is a need to be cautious....

In the source.lists try to stay clean. If possible, use LL-repositories. In principle, you do not need anti-virus software with GNU / Linux.
LL 5.0 64 bit Packard Bell Easynote TK 85 (since 1.0.6)
Manjaro 20.1 Xfce 64 bit Thinkpad T420s
Pop!_OS 20.04 64 bit HUAWEI Matebook D (AMD)
Solus 4.1 Lenovo M30-70
PeppermintOS 10 64 bit Dell Inspiron 11-3162
ROSA 11 Fresh 64 bit Packard Bell dot SE

Why?  We have ClamAV in the repositories if you think you need antivirus software on Linux (which you prob'ly don't).
